Your Couch Gets More Use Than Your Carpet
A lounge takes body oils, hair product, food, drink and pet contact every single day, concentrated into a much smaller area than the floor. That is why fabric that started pale ends up with dark head rests and shiny arms.
Body oil is the real culprit. It is not water-soluble, so vacuuming and household sprays do nothing to it, and it slowly attracts and holds dry soil until the fabric looks permanently grey.
We test the fabric first, pre-treat the oils with the right chemistry, then extract with a hand tool that uses far less moisture than a carpet wand. Done properly the couch is dry in three to five hours and does not go stiff.
That is what the fabric test is for. Some fabrics, especially linens and older loose covers, are not safe to wet-clean and we will tell you before we start rather than after.

Why Home Upholstery Machines Disappoint

Upholstery We Clean
The cleaning code decides the method. Getting it wrong is how couches end up shrunk or watermarked.
Upholstery Stains We Treat
Tell us what it is and how old. Fresh spills lift far more completely than ones that have been rubbed with a cloth and set into the weave.

Upholstery Cleaning Melbourne FAQs
How much does couch cleaning cost in Melbourne?
From $35 a seat, so a two-seat sofa is from $75 and a three-seat from $105. Armchairs are from $45 and dining chairs from $15. There is a $120 minimum call-out which covers a standard lounge suite. You get a fixed itemised quote before we begin.
How long does a couch take to dry?
Three to five hours. We use a hand upholstery tool rather than a carpet wand, which puts far less moisture into the padding, and we finish with air movement. Book a morning slot and it is usable that evening.
Will my fabric shrink or watermark?
That is exactly what the fabric test is for. We identify the cleaning code and test a hidden panel before touching the visible fabric. Linen and some loose covers genuinely are not safe to wet-clean, and we tell you that before we start rather than after.
Can you get body oil out of the arms and head rests?
Yes, and it is the most common thing we are asked for. Body oil is not water-soluble, which is why vacuuming and household sprays do nothing. It needs a pre-treatment designed for oil, dwell time, then extraction.
Can you remove pet smell from a couch?
Usually. The odour lives in the foam rather than the fabric, so we deodorise at the source rather than spraying the surface. Where a pet has repeatedly urinated into the cushions, we will be honest about whether the foam can be saved.
Do you clean dining chairs and bed heads?
Yes. Dining chairs are from $15 each and upholstered bed heads are priced like an armchair. Adding them to an existing booking is inexpensive because you are already paying the call-out.
Is it safe for children and pets?
Yes. We use biodegradable, low-residue products and rinse them out, so nothing sticky is left in the fabric. Fragrance-free options are available on request.
Do I need to do anything before you arrive?
Remove cushions and throws you do not want cleaned, and clear the space around the lounge. We handle the rest.
How often should upholstery be cleaned?
Every 12 months for a lounge in daily use, or every 6 months with pets or young children. Waiting longer means the body oil has more time to bond with the fibre.
Do you cover my suburb?
All of Melbourne metro plus Geelong and surrounds. Call 0436 389 114 if you are unsure.
