Repair It, Do Not Replace It
A burn, a tear or a pet-damaged patch does not mean a new floor. In most cases we can cut the damage out and graft in a matching piece so well that you will struggle to find it afterwards.
The trick is the donor carpet. We take it from inside a wardrobe, under a bed or from an offcut left by the installer, so the patch matches the wear, the colour and the pile direction of the carpet around it.
A repair typically costs a fraction of replacing the room, and it can be done in under an hour. If the damage genuinely cannot be repaired to a standard we are happy with, we will say so rather than take your money.
Describe the damage and roughly how big it is when you request a quote. We will tell you honestly whether a repair will be invisible, merely tidy, or not worth doing.

What Is Included in Every Clean
Every job runs the full process. There is no stripped-back version at a lower price that skips the steps that matter.
Should You Repair or Replace the Carpet?
Replacing is sometimes genuinely the better call. Here is how we would decide, honestly.
How We Clean, Step by Step
Most single repairs are done in one visit, often in under an hour.
Send photos or describe it
Tell us the size and type of damage. We will give you an honest read before we book.
On-site assessment
We check the backing, underlay and pile direction, and confirm the price before starting.
Source the donor piece
From a wardrobe, under a bed or an installer offcut, so the match is genuine.
Cut out the damage
The damaged section is cut square, not torn, so the graft has clean edges to bond to.
Bond the patch
Hot-melt tape underneath, pile direction matched, then pressed and set.
Groom and blend
The area is groomed so the patch sits flush and disappears into the surrounding carpet.

Carpet Repair Melbourne FAQs
How much does carpet repair cost in Melbourne?
Single patch repairs start from $120, which includes sourcing and grafting the donor piece, and additional patches in the same visit are from $60. Seam repairs are from $40 a metre. There is a minimum call-out of $120. You get a fixed itemised quote before we begin.
Will the repair be visible?
In most cases no, provided we can find a good donor piece. The patch is cut square, bonded on hot-melt tape and matched for pile direction, which is what makes it disappear. Where the carpet is heavily faded and the donor piece comes from a wardrobe that has never seen sunlight, there can be a slight colour difference. We will tell you before we start if that is likely.
Where does the donor carpet come from?
Ideally an offcut left by the installer. If there is none, we take it from inside a wardrobe, under a bed or from another hidden area, and patch that spot with something less critical. It is always your own carpet, which is why the match works.
Can you repair burns?
Yes, and it is one of the most common jobs we do. Melted synthetic fibre cannot be cleaned out, so the burnt section is cut away and a matched piece grafted in. Iron burns and cigarette burns are both routine.
Can you fix carpet the dog has chewed?
Usually yes. Doorways and edges take the worst of it. The important part is rebuilding the backing first, because patching straight onto chewed backing will lift again within months.
How long does a repair take?
A single patch is usually under an hour, including sourcing the donor piece. Multiple repairs or seam work across a room can take two to three hours.
Is repairing worth it, or should I replace the carpet?
If the damage is isolated and the rest of the carpet still looks reasonable, repair every time. It costs a fraction of replacement and takes an hour instead of days. If the pile is flattened and grey across the whole room, a patch will only highlight how tired the rest is, and we will say so.
Can you repair and clean in the same visit?
Yes, and it is the cheapest way to do both because you only pay one call-out. We repair first, then clean, so the patch is groomed in with the rest of the carpet.
Do you repair rental properties before inspection?
Often. A repair is almost always cheaper than the deduction an agent will make for damaged carpet, and you receive a tax invoice for your records.
Do you cover my suburb?
All of Melbourne metro plus Geelong and the surrounding region. Call 0436 389 114 if you are unsure and we will confirm.
