Privacy Policy | How We Handle Your Information
Wondering what happens to your details? This policy explains what Steam Cleaning Victoria collects, why we collect it and how to have it deleted.
Who this policy applies to
This privacy policy applies to Numan’s Services Pty Ltd (ABN 88 675 548 731), trading as Steam Cleaning Victoria, and to this website at steamcleaningvictoria.com.au.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy was last updated on 12 August 2026.
What we collect
When you request a quote, book a job or contact us, we collect the information you give us: your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the service you are after and anything you write in the message field.
When we attend a job we also record the service address, what was cleaned, any access instructions you gave us and the amount invoiced. Photographs are sometimes taken of damage or problem areas so we can show you what we found and what we did.
When you browse the site we collect standard technical information: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visited and where you arrived from. This is aggregated analytics data and we do not use it to try to identify you personally.
We do not collect or store your card details. Payments are processed by our payment provider and we only ever see confirmation that a payment succeeded.
Why we collect it
To quote your job accurately, book it in, turn up at the right address and invoice you afterwards.
To contact you about your booking, including confirmations, arrival times and follow-up if something needs attention under our re-clean promise.
To meet our record-keeping and tax obligations, which require us to retain invoicing records for seven years.
To understand how the website is used so we can improve it, and to measure whether our advertising is working.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with other cleaning companies, lead-generation services or marketing lists.
Who we share it with
Our own technicians and office staff, so they can carry out and schedule your job.
Service providers who operate parts of our business on our behalf: our website host, our email provider, our booking and quoting system, our payment processor and our accountant. They may only use the information to provide that service to us.
Google, through Google Analytics and Google Ads, in the form of website usage and conversion data. This is covered further in our cookies policy.
Anyone we are legally required to disclose to, such as a court, a regulator or the Australian Taxation Office.
Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Marketing
If you have used us or asked for a quote, we may occasionally contact you about our services. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to stop at any time by replying or calling us.
We will not add you to a marketing list simply because you visited the website.
How long we keep it
Quote enquiries that do not turn into a booking are kept for two years, so we have context if you come back to us.
Job and invoicing records are kept for seven years, as required by Australian tax law.
Website analytics data is retained according to the settings in Google Analytics, currently 14 months.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, except where we are legally required to keep it.
How we protect it
The website runs over HTTPS, so anything you send through a form is encrypted in transit. Access to our booking and invoicing systems is restricted to staff who need it and protected by individual accounts and passwords.
No system is perfectly secure and we will not pretend otherwise. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@steamcleaningvictoria.com.au or call 0436 389 114 and we will respond within 30 days.
We may need to verify your identity before releasing information, which usually just means confirming details of a job we did for you. There is no charge for making a request.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at info@steamcleaningvictoria.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
