The Seat Is Always Darker Than the Back

It is the simplest test there is. Look at the back panel of your lounge, which nobody touches, then look at the seat cushions and the arms. That difference is body oil and soil, and because it builds evenly over years you stop noticing it.

South Yarra is really two suburbs in one. There are the period terraces and townhouses in the streets off Domain Road, and there are the apartment towers of the Forrest Hill precinct behind Chapel Street. The cleaning problems in each are completely different.

The underside of the cushions is where the evidence is. Unzip one and look at the inner lining against the outer fabric. That colour gap is the soil that has passed through the weave, and it is the reason a lounge can look tired even when nothing has ever been spilled on it.

Apartment access needs sorting before we arrive

Most South Yarra towers require a booked lift, a loading dock slot, and a certificate of currency lodged with building management before a contractor can start. Ask us for the certificate when you book and check the lift rules with your building manager. It is the single most common reason a job gets delayed at the door.

Do you clean the cushion covers separately?

We clean them in place rather than removing and washing them. Taking covers off and machine washing them is the most common way a lounge gets ruined, because they shrink slightly and never fit properly again. Cleaning them on the cushion avoids that entirely.

Can you clean a sofa bed?

Yes, and it is worth opening it out. The mattress inside a sofa bed is rarely cleaned and often in worse condition than the sofa itself. We clean both, and the mattress section is priced as a single mattress from $60.

How is a modular or corner lounge priced?

By the seat, plus each corner or chaise section as an extra. We count it with you before starting, so there is no discovery on the day that your lounge is somehow bigger than you thought. That is a common complaint about cheaper operators and it is not how we quote.

What does the tag under my couch mean?

W means water-based cleaning is safe. S means solvent only. WS means either. X means vacuum only. It matters enormously, because wet-cleaning an S-coded fabric causes permanent water rings. No tag means we test a hidden section before touching the visible surface.

Can you clean an apartment on a high floor?

Yes. We run hoses from the truck where the building allows it and use portable extraction where it does not, which covers the towers around Forrest Hill and Chapel Street. Tell us the floor and whether there is a service lift when you book so we bring the right setup.

Do you need a certificate of currency for my building?

Most South Yarra apartment buildings do require one from any contractor. We carry public liability insurance and can send the certificate through before the job. Sorting it when you book avoids being turned away at the loading dock.
