Nobody Cleans Their Curtains, and the Reason Is Always the Same
Taking curtains down is a two-person job with a ladder, and rehanging them straight afterwards is worse. So they hang there quietly filtering every bit of airborne dust in the house, year after year.
Curlewis is a Bellarine growth pocket, mostly new estate housing built around the golf course, with young families and a lot of homes under fifteen years old.

Can you get cooking smells out of curtains?
Usually yes. Cooking residue is a greasy soil rather than dry dust, so it needs a different treatment, and the odour is held inside the fibre rather than sitting on the surface. We neutralise it rather than spraying fragrance over the top. Mention it when you book so we bring the right products.
What about mould spots along the hem?
Cleaning removes surface growth and the soil around it, but mould that has been there long enough to stain the fibre often leaves a shadow behind. We test a hidden area and give you an honest expectation before starting rather than afterwards.
Do the curtains have to come down?
In most cases no. We clean on the rail, which keeps the hang and hem line intact and means you never have bare windows. Take down and rehang is available from $15 a drop for the minority of fabrics that genuinely need off-site treatment.
Will they shrink?
Not when cleaned on the rail with controlled moisture and dried hanging. Shrinkage is overwhelmingly a problem with washing curtains or sending them away, where the fabric relaxes out of shape and then finishes short when rehung.

Does living near the coast change anything?
Sand does. It is angular and abrasive, and it cuts carpet fibre from underneath every time somebody walks on it. It has to come out dry with a thorough pre-vacuum before any moisture, because wetting sand first turns it into paste in the backing.
